This is the guiding principle of the EUROPA-CENTER Uwe Heinrich Suhr Foundation. It clearly defines the orientation intended by the founder and owner of EUROPA-CENTER Real Estate Group.

Science Award

Tendered

For the real estate investor Uwe Heinrich Suhr architecture, urban development, and construction are of significant importance. This led to the creation of an international BIM (Building Information Modeling) award for students.

In cooperation with HafenCity University, the “EUROPA-CENTER Suhr BIM Award” was successfully tendered in 2020 and 2024 in the field of “Digital Integrated Process Management – Planning”.

As part of the tender, students from various areas of building e.g. (heritage conservation, sustainability, AI, construction in existing context) developed BIM-based solutions and researched new digital routes.

In order to inspire from an early stage, recipients of the BIM-awards were students from master as well as bachelor programs.

University Funding

Endowed Professorship

The future of building is of major interest for Uwe Heinrich Suhr. In 2017 the foundation actively co-developed and funded an endowed professorship for “Digital Integrated Process Management – Planning (Building Information Modeling)” in order to substantially strengthen teaching and expand research in Germany together with HafenCity University Hamburg.

Following the retirement of Prof. Daniel Mondino in summer 2025, after eight years of leadership in BIM at HafenCity Universität, the foundation will focus on new technological developments and future initiatives in teaching and research.
